Move SEP to another SEPM server

Hello.

After 2003 server EOL we decided to install new SEPM to newest server.

I moved clients to new server with sylink and install new setup.

But I could't move 500-600 computers because I don't have administrator password and some of them is not domain and some probles like that.

What can I do for this problem?

IF I turned off old server. So create new dns record with old server name for new SEPM. and I can set old ip address to new SEPM server.

After turned off old SEPM.

I can set old SEPM server's ip to new SEPM server. (IP v4 configuration 2. ip )

Also DNS record.

Old SEP clients can register to new SEP; is possible?

Symantec Endpoint Encryption 11.1.0 GPO AD Policy

We have a Symantec Endpoint Encryption Server that we are trying to figure out how to create and use AD GPO policies with.  I was wondering if this requires a schema extention to AD?  When I edit the local group policy on the server I can see some options under the computer configuration software settings.  I do not see those options from my computer where I run the Group policy managemnt console. 

Also if we do not apply any GPO policies then I assume the computer will use the policies included with the installer?

How to integrate two different SEPM servers into one site

Hello,

One customer has made a recent acquisition and now they have 2 different SEPM servers in 2 different networks. SEPM1 (12.1.5) has about 800 clients, with embedded database. SEPM2 (12.1.6) has about 2400 clients with SQL on a separate server. What customer wants is to have one console to view both sites, but they don’t want to move clients from SEPM1 to SEPM2, since they have some network issues. SEPM1 and SEPM2 can be reached by each other with no problem, but they have installed different SLF files.

Replication is possible even if they don’t have same license? Should they load both licenses on both SEPM servers?

Protection server could be used? Is this still being offered to customers? Would they have to buy Protection Server license?

Any suggestion to try on this will be greatly appreciated.

How would you create a rule for email attachments of type PDF with "null" that is no content?

I'm looking to flag images, faxes and other PDFs that do not contain indexable content.

custom check creation

I would like to ask about check creation

if i want to check whether 'connectionTimeout="60000' like "screenshot1.png" as attached. i can use the check "screenshot2.png" as attached

i tested it and it is working fine. however, if there is some words behind the string... it is failed (please see the example as screenshot3.png)

what element do i need to use to check whether the particular string exists or not among other stings?

Installing SEP 12.1.6 MP4 On HP Thin Clients

Dear All

i am facing problems while installing SEP on thin clients with Wndows 7 Embedded installed. systems are just crashing with a blue screen. tried to restart more than one time, i still get the blue screen after minutes from logging in. i loged in with another admin account to the thin client, all were fine no Blue screen.

i uninstalled SEP then restarted, systems went back to the usual state.

is there a specific protocol for installing on Windows 7 Embedded??

Symantec DLP Solution Pack

Hi,

Can any one explain brife about below query :

1. What is Solution Pack in Symantec DLP ?

2, For what reason we need to export solution pack after installation on Symantec DLP ?

3. If we wont export Solution Pack what will happen ?

4. In McAfee DLP there is no such type of solution pack to export or import everythin is inbuilt or default, why this question... Customer frequently asks these types of questions.

5. Why Symantec DLP is integrated with Oracle DB instead of SQL DB?

6. When i try to search for Symantec & McAfee DLP Comparison chart in google, i can see only McAfee will be topper than Symantec.

Please make it sorry for the above queries... When i try to position Symantec DLP to the customer these many queries im unable to answerable, so asked.

Please do reply back with proper resolution... cause i have to explain the same to Customer.

501 Connection rejected by policy [7.7]

Hi there, I run my own mail server for my consulting company, hosted at Digital Ocean in New York. It has had the same IP address for a few years, I publish an SPF record, it has PTR records for both IPv6 and IPv4, and it does not send spam or act as an open relay or anything like that. However I still get the error 501 Connection rejected by policy [7.7] 9612 whenever I send to a company that uses Symantec Email Security (Messagelabs). Can you please delist my IP address, which is 192.241.243.54, and the domain is noware.co.uk.

Hi, 

    Is it possible to move a code signing digital Id from windows 10 to windows xp?

    We obtained our code signing certificate from a win 10 machine, I got a .pfx file on my win 10. but now we are thinking to sign on a win xp machine (using the old sha1 algorithm only). not sure if I can do it and/or how to do it if I can. Thanks.

SEP blocks Windows 10 Upgrade

When running the Windows 10 Upgrader, I receive a prompt that Endpoint Protection must be unistalled to continue.  I have gone through the normal uninstall process using Control Panel, but when I reboot and try to upgrade again I receive the same message.  Apparently there are some lingering traces of the program that will not be removed with the conventional uninstall methods.  Now I am stuck and cannot proceed any further with the upgrade.  Is there an easy-to-use fix for this??

SYLINK Registry Entries Missing

Hello,

We are running 12.1.6 MP4 (12.1 RU6 MP4), MAR 2016.  We just recently upgraded to this new client.  Servers that have not been upgraded still have the SYLINK entry in their Registry.  Upgraded servers are missing the entry.

All the clients appear to be communicating with the SEPM just fine as evidenced by the green dot on the client and no problems in the SEPM.

I tried re-importing a Sylink.xml file, but the entries were not re-created.  Any help much appreciated.

active directory integration

Better active directory integration.  it would be really nice to access everything from one console and not have to click and search to find computers or endpoints.  if i click on the client tab and go to my groups, it would be nice to just right click and install package, or highlight and select multiple workstations and right click and send package.  Other vendors have this feature and it would be nice to have the same function available through SEP.  Protection is great but not easy to use, i don’t want to search for computers i like to select and click on my clients that need the package installed and select install.  too many steps when trying to deploy client packages to various workstations.  Would like to see more enhancements in remote management of clients and viewing the network processing, something built into the client but not into the manager.  When checking the main page with clients that need attention i would like to be able again right click and have available options that apply to the issue, restart, update, etc...
